For what you get, MS-Access is cheaper than Filemaker by far on a cost per user basis. Usually you get the rest of the Microsoft suite with Access. The only thing Filemaker has over Access is being able to run of a MAC natively. For the everyday user, Access gives you more bang for buck if you are a windows user.

jldel Far more complicated than Filemaker Pro. I've been using Filemaker since 1987, every once and a while I will try my hand at Access, and leave it frustrated. FM is intuitive, Access is not.

      pros, cons and recent comments
LiveCode is nothing like Access. You still have to code everything yourself, no wizards, no easy report builder, no automatic data-binding to controls... The list goes on and on. This is a programming application, not an end-user application. Completely different.
