EasySwitch information
What is EasySwitch?
EasySwitch lets you control multiple computers with a single mouse and keyboard. Move the cursor off the edge of one screen and it crosses to the next machine — Mac, Windows or Linux — like a hardware KVM switch, but in software and without video.
Nothing but input events, clipboard contents and files ever crosses the network. The screen is never captured or transmitted, and there is no account, no cloud service and no internet connection required — everything stays on your local network. All traffic is end-to-end encrypted (Noise protocol), and new devices pair with a fingerprint confirmation dialog so a stranger on your network can't connect.
EasySwitch is written in native Rust with a lightweight UI, ships as a single binary under 10 MB, and launches in a fraction of a second.
Key features:
- Edge-crossing control: drag the cursor between machines as if they were one desktop, with a drag-and-drop mini-map to arrange screens
- Shared clipboard between all connected machines, including copy-pasting files across computers
- Automatic device discovery on the LAN and automatic reconnect after sleep or Wi-Fi drops
- Escape hotkey (double-tap Ctrl) instantly returns control to your main machine
- Per-device pointer speed and layout settings
- Linux support covers both Wayland and X11; on Windows, input keeps working in elevated (admin/UAC) windows
- Dark and light mode, native look on every OS
The free version supports two devices with text clipboard sync. A paid license unlocks more machines and file transfer features.
