OSS Document Scanner is more lightweight, and has better filters. It condenses the files similarly as CamScanner, but the text is more clear.
The only problem is that for my phone (GrapheneOS), I have to take photos with camera and import them in the app, because for whatever reason it makes the images blurry when I take the photo in the app itself. This may be because of my Android operating system.
But it's smaller, open-source, and outputs better images (textbook pages).

DiscontinuedNot updated in 3 years. Google Play store says not compatible with current OS, and if you download from F-Droid it asks you to direct download another app to use it, which is not on Google Play or F-Droid.

One of the few - perhaps even the only - open source scanning apps for Android. Gives comparable results to Camscanner. Needs OpenCV Manager to be installed, but that's a formality (the latter requires no permissions.)

It has really good scan quality, something other alternatives often fail at. It's minimalistic and just works.
