It's v1.0 and it already impresses me. I am used to Everything from Voidtools and of course its better at the moment, but Everthing lacks the possibilty to search in files. Anytxt gave me full text search and i don't even get the indexing. its extremely fast.
I don't like AnyTXT Searcher v1-3 : 1st launch is a nightmare (CPU and disk hogs!) : ■ ATOhelper.exe RAM1.1Gb, during 9 minutes, CPU:~25% ■ ATservice.exe RAM~0.6Gb, during 31 minutes, CPU:50%
Anytxt is the best Specific Content search program. As a generalized search, not so good. Fast for specifics, but too fast for generalized searches and can hang.. and it has no stop button. Hilites the info automatically in a side panel. Like FileSearchy, searches for Date Modified only, not date created. Neither Anytxt, nor FileSearchy would let me Rename files from right-click context (links to file folder though), so I'm going to Everything Searcher for a directory style search. Everything Search doesn't have good specific content search. Listary is fastest for files by name.
It's like Google for your own files. Those who remember Google Desktop Search will definitely like it. It's incredibly fast An amazing piece of software. I'm surprised it's not better known
