Google Play Store is described as 'Official Android marketplace for apps, games, books, movies, and more accessible via Android devices and web browsers with user reviews for each item' and is a leading App Store in the online services category. There are more than 50 alternatives to Google Play Store for a variety of platforms, including Android, Web-based, Android Tablet, F-Droid and Linux apps. The best Google Play Store alternative is F-Droid, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like Google Play Store are Aurora Store, Steam, Aptoide and APKMirror.

Has the advantage of being open source and only lists open source apps (since it uses the F-Droid repository), which has privacy benefits over Google play Store. It has a better interface than F-Droid, plus a system of labels, rankings and comments, that are lacking on the original F-Droid app. (personal experience: images, like logos, load way faster on G-droid than F-Droid for me)
