d3rpyp1zzait has a brush tool, smoothing, can do frame by frame, everything i need!
Very similar to Animate and is still being updated!
It does have a lot of cool features, and will do for a lot of people, but it doesn't have things like bone tools and other things like that. (Also i'd way prefer it to be downloadable in my opinion)
it doesnt even have symbols
just mild things, such as no pen pressure
Easier to use than Animate. Friendlier scripting API. Always growing. Bug fixes & new features added to GitHub source almost every day. Friendly devs and forum. It can't do everything Animate can (yet!) but give it some time. It sure beats Adobe's monopolistic business practices!
Really good for a free download, can do almost anything animate can.

Not nearly similar enough to Animate. Overcomplicates many features that are simply done in Animate.

It has mostly all the essential Flash features for animation and it doesn't cut corners for anything. Its an overall good program to use. I have seen many amazing Flash level animations made with this program and it can still be used for simple low quality animations. It can also be used for teaching students.
Because its easy to use, and simple!
Has all the same features as Adobe Animation CC (Flash), is VERY beginner friendly and is cross platform!
It's easy to use and really powerful
It is too confusing, tweens don't work.
Mr_JangoonThey have many similar features and are both vector based
Their website plainly states they are not an alternative to Flash

AnipeThis is for 3d not 2d like animate, hardly ana lternative
SilbermannVerge3D is much easier to use when you need responsive 3D web content on your website. Good for prototyping as well.
Verge3D is a good alternative if you need to create a full-featured 3D interactive content on your website such as configurator or browser game.
Verge3D integrates tightly with Blender/3ds Max and as such allows for creating interactive animations right in 3D modelling suite, not in the separate program like Adobe Animate. It also comes with an advanced visual programming tool.
