There is no doubt that Adobe Suite is great, even in some case it's probably the best. But you can be mad at Adobe for many reasons, expensive monthly subscribtion method, bad stability, useless features, paying for tools you don't use. Here is my list with the best way to ditch Adobe monopoly in my opinion.

I definitely prefer this over OpenToonz for the moment (although they're equally great). Tahoma2D looks and feels more intuitive to me.

From all the alternatives to Adobe Animate that I tried this is the best one, just before Google Web Designer.
Motion and shape tweens can be created. The usability is better than with OpenToonz and it supports animating via bones.
