Organic Maps adds CarPlay dashboard, bookmark multi-select, and tracks' hidding on the map
Organic Maps has released an update for its open-source, privacy-focused GPS navigation app. The update refreshes its OpenStreetMap and Wikipedia data, bringing current map and reference information to users. The changes span in-car navigation, editing, sharing, and map content.
On iOS, the release adds a CarPlay dashboard and AirDrop sharing for places. Users can select all or deselect all bookmarks and tracks, then delete, move, or recolor multiple items at once.
On Android, bookmarks and tracks lists now include a multi-selection mode. For track visibility, individual Android tracks can be hidden through an eye icon in the list or track details screen. Meanwhile, Android Auto also receives several improvements and bug fixes.
Across sharing workflows, places, bookmarks, and current positions are now sent as readable links with useful information. In addition, exported bookmarks retain their original names and descriptions for better readability.
On the map, Organic Maps adds support for bird hides, stages, hills, and natural arches. Rocks receive a new map icon, while voice guidance is now available in Armenian and Lao.
