Anthropic updates Claude with new third-party integrations & expands research capabilities
Anthropic has unveiled Integrations, ushering in a new era of connectivity for its Claude large language model. With Integrations, users can now link their preferred apps and tools directly to Claude, making it possible to draw on extensive context and take actions across diverse platforms. This launch marks a significant shift, as Integrations extend Claude’s compatibility beyond local setups to include seamless support for remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, both on the web and desktop.
With Integrations, Claude can access in-depth organizational context from connected services, such as project histories and task statuses, and take actions across various platforms. The launch includes support for 10 major services — Jira, Confluence, Zapier, Cloudflare, Intercom, Asana, Square, Sentry, PayPal, Linear, and Plaid — with additional integrations from companies like Stripe and GitLab expected soon. Developers can build custom Integrations with Claude in as little as 30 minutes, helping organizations tailor their workflows.
Integrated tools enable Claude to understand contextual details — such as project histories and task statuses — empowering deeper automation and insight. Anthropic has also enhanced Claude’s Research mode, allowing it to search not just the web and Google Workspace, but also through all connected Integrations to deliver comprehensive reports. Additionally, web search is now available to all Claude paid users worldwide.
