What a shame they closed the source. Which makes bsnes or ares still the only valid choice for people who actually care for not only the games to preserve, but also methods to use those.
The original ZSNES was a blessing to have in its early days, allowing decent, if slightly inaccurate emulation on modest hardware of the late 1990s. I'm very impressed with this initial release, and that the devs were kind enough to offer a GNU/Linux release for that growing userbase. I don't know how great the interest will be in a SNES emulator nowadays, even with the unique mod tools and enhancements they plan to offer - but I welcome this entry in the emulation scene.
