Audacity is free, open source software for recording and editing sounds. You can use Audacity to record live audio, convert tapes and records, edit sound files, change the speed or pitch of a recording and much more.
Spleeter is the Deezer audio source separation library with pretrained models written in Python and uses Tensorflow. The instrument is able to divide a music track into separate components (vocal, drums, bass and others specifical sounds). After splitting into several audio tracks, each of them can be used for their own purposes (remove vocals, cut guitar rhythm and more). The resulting audio tracks can be imported into any audio editor, such as Audacity.It makes it easy to train source separation model (assuming you have a dataset of isolated sources), and provides already trained state of the art model for performing various flavour of separation :

2 stems and 4 stems models have state of the art performances on the musdb dataset. Spleeter is also very fast as it can perform separation of audio files to 4 stems 100x faster than real-time when run on a GPU.
We designed Spleeter so you can use it straight from command line as well as directly in your own development pipeline as a Python library. It can be installed with Conda, with pip or be used with Docker. Quick start

Spotify is a freemium music streaming service providing digital rights management-restricted content from record labels including Sony, EMI, Warner Music Group and Universal.
Music can be browsed by artist, album, genre, playlist, or record label, as well as by direct searches. On computers, a link allows the listener to purchase selected material via partner retailers.

VapourSynth is an application for video manipulation. Or a plugin. Or a library. It’s hard to tell because it has a core library written in C++ and a Python module to allow video scripts to be created. It came to be when I started thinking about alternative designs for Avisynth and most of it was written over a 3 month period. The software has been heavily inspired by Avisynth and aims to be a 21st century rewrite, taking advantage of the advancements computers have made since the late 90s. The main features compared to Avisynth are:

- Generalized Colorspaces – New Colorspaces can be specified at runtime
- Per Frame Properties – Additional metadata can be attached to frames

FFmpeg is the leading multimedia framework, able to decode, encode, transcode, mux, demux, stream, filter and play pretty much anything that humans and machines have created. It supports the most obscure ancient formats up to the cutting edge. No matter if they were designed by some standards committee, the community or a corporation. It is also highly portable: FFmpeg compiles, runs, and passes our testing infrastructure FATE across Linux, Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, the BSDs, Solaris, etc. under a wide variety of build environments, machine architectures, and configurations.
It contains libavcodec, libavutil, libavformat, libavfilter, libavdevice, libswscale and libswresample which can be used by applications. As well as ffmpeg, ffplay and ffprobe which can be used by end users for transcoding and playing.
The FFmpeg project tries to provide the best technically possible solution for developers of applications and end users alike. To achieve this we combine the best free software options available. We slightly favor our own code to keep the dependencies on other libs low and to maximize code sharing between parts of FFmpeg. Wherever the question of "best" cannot be answered we support both options so the end user can choose.
Everyone is welcome in FFmpeg and all contributions are welcome too. We are happy to receive patches, pull requests, bug reports, donations or any other type of contribution.

LAV Filters are a set of open-source DirectShow filters, aimed to eventually replace the better part of the playback chain required to play all and any modern media.

MadVR, also known as Madshi Video Renderer is much more than a simple video renderer. It uses your GPU to perform resolution upscaling, chroma upscaling, and all kinds of other video enhancements that can significantly improve video quality. MadVR can be used with a few different video players such as MPC-HC and PotPlayer.
MadVR is the last stop before the video is displayed on screen. Prior to madVR the video and audio stream get separated by a Source / Splitter Filter, like FFmpeg. From there the video stream will pass through a Video Codec or transform filter, like CUDA or DXVA2 which can take advantage of your GPU to speed along the playback process.
MPC-BE is a free and open source audio and video player for Windows.
MPC-BE is based on the original Guliverkli project and "Media Player Classic Home Cinema" project, contains additional features and bug fixes.

The Album Art Downloader is a program designed to make life easier for anyone who wishes to find and update their album art for their music collection. The sources for the pictures can be defined by creating plugin scripts.
Beets is the media library management system for obsessive-compulsive music geeks. The purpose of beets is to get your music collection right once and for all. It catalogs your collection, automatically improving its metadata as it goes using the MusicBrainz database. It then provides a bouquet of tools for manipulating and accessing your music.
Medieval CUE splitter is an easy-to-use tool for breaking long audio files into smaller, songlike chunks. It has a simple layout and fast results; its only drawback is the rare CUE file format it uses.

Mp3tag is a powerful and easy-to-use tool to edit metadata of audio files.
It supports batch tag-editing of ID3v1, ID3v2.3, ID3v2.4, iTunes MP4, WMA, Vorbis Comments and APE Tags for multiple files at once covering a variety of audio formats.
Furthermore, it supports online database lookups from, e.g., Discogs, MusicBrainz or freedb, allowing you to automatically gather proper tags and download cover art for your music library.
You can rename files based on the tag information, replace characters or words in tags and filenames, import/export tag information, create playlists and more.
Mp3tag is developed for Windows: macOS and Linux systems can also run the application under a compatibility layer, such as Wine.
Picard is the next generation MusicBrainz tagging application. This new tagging concept is album oriented, as opposed to track/file oriented like the ClassicTagger was. Picard is written in Python, which is a cross-platform language, and makes use of cross-platform libraries - this allows the same code to run both on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

HandBrake is an open-source, multithreaded video transcoder – it compresses and converts digital media from one format to another. HandBrake can rip encrypted DVDs with libdvdcss (libdvdcss is installed with VLC media player on macOS, or AnyDVD/DVD 43 on Windows).
Supports • Any Blu-ray or DVD-like source: VIDEO_TS folder, DVD image or real DVD, and some .VOB, .m2ts, and .TS files. MakeMKV is a program designed for ripping DVD and Blu-Ray disc video. It works by decrypting proprietary discs to transfer codecs from the formats VOB and M2TS into MKV, preserving the necessary data without doing any lossy codec conversion. The MKV format was chosen because of Matroska's goal to make a file format that acts like a DVD, with its simple container design to store any amount of video/audio tracks, with all meta-information including chapters. MakeMKV can also stream the output.

Allows you to make thumbnails (caps, previews, screen-lists) and screenshots of video files. The utility can be used for home-video cataloging and for network video sharing support.
It practically supports any videos-formats (even MOV, QT, FLV, SWF, RM if you have appropriate codecs). If the file can be normally played in your video-player (WMP, ...), it can be processed by the program.

Bypass Paywalls Clean is a browser extension that allows you to read articles from (supported) sites that implement a paywall. You can also add domains as custom site and try to bypass the paywall. Weekly updates are released for fixes and new sites.
By default BPC has limited permissions, but you can opt-in to enable custom sites (and also clear cookies/block general paywall-scripts for non-listed sites).
Bypass Paywalls Clean is a fork of Bypass Paywalls. BPC has an option to automatically bypass paywalls for sites that are newly supported, without needing to change any settings.
A free and open source web browser descended from the Mozilla Application Suite. Firefox is highly extensible, with thousands of third-party add-ons available.
Firefox version 60+ (Quantum) is presently faster than Google Chrome and use less memory than Chrome. Compare to previous versions of Firefox, the Quantum version is twice as fast, promote parallelism, and has more intuitive user interface.

Reddit Enhancement Suite (RES) provides several add-ons to enhance your Reddit browsing experience - each of which is configurable. You can enable/disable any of the modules, and most of them have their own options that can also be personalized.

SingleFile is an extension that helps you to archive a complete page into a single HTML file or HTM-File with Google Chrome and Chromium.
In version 0.0.76 it is not possible to save only a selection without advertising text at the edges of a site, as you can with unMHT. But the author gildas promised to implement this feature in one of the next versions.
Saved files are compatible with Firefox, Opera, Safari, Konqueror and partially with Internet Explorer 8, if you uncheck the option "remove unused CSS rules".
SponsorBlock is a browser extension and open API via crowdsource for skipping sponsor segments in YouTube videos. It's open-source. Users submit when a sponsor happens from the extension, and the extension automatically skips sponsors it knows about using a privacy preserving query system. It also supports skipping other categories, such as intros, outros and reminders to subscribe, and skipping to the point with highlight.

uBlock Origin is NOT an "ad blocker": it is a wide-spectrum blocker -- which happens to be able to function as a mere "ad blocker". deemix (lowercase) is a barebone deezer downloader library built from the ashes of Deezloader Remix. The deemix framework supports a GUI interface that allows Deezer users to download music files from Deezer services. deemix allows users to download individual songs, full albums, and an entire artist's discography. DownloadHelper is a tool for web content extraction. Its purpose is to capture video, audio, and image files from many sites.
Just surf the Web as you are used to, when DownloadHelper detects it can do something for you, the icon gets animated and a menu allows you to download files by simply clicking an item
For instance, if you go to a YouTube page, you'll be able to download the video directly on your file system. It also works with MySpace, Google videos, DailyMotion, Porkolt, iFilm, DreamHost and others. You can even setup the extension to automatically convert the downloaded movies to your preferred video format.
When you are on a page containing links to images or movies, you can download some or all of them at once. Moving the mouse over the items in the menu will highlights the links directly in the page to make sure they are the ones you want to pick up.
DownloadHelper also allows you to download files one by one, so that you keep bandwidth to surf for other stuff to download.
Because of Google WebStore restrictions, the Chrome version of the add-on does not download videos from YouTube. Use the Firefox version for this purpose.
Command line program as a youtube-dl fork that downloads videos from YouTube and over 1000 sites. yt-dlp is a youtube-dl fork based on the now inactive youtube-dlc. The main focus of this project is adding new features and patches while also keeping up to date with the original project.

SpaceSniffer is a tool application that gives you an idea of how folders and files are structured on your disks. By using a Treemap visualization layout, you have immediate perception of where big folders and files are situated on your devices. If you need to understand why no more free space is left on media, keep following bigger elements. Maybe you want to focus only on particular file types... ok. Just type the file type on the filter field (example: .jpg) and press enter. The view will react and show you only JPEG files. Want to exclude files? Then type a starting pipe before the filter (example: |.jpg) and press enter. The view will show everything but JPEG files.
