Upvoted a comment on Quoll WriterOpen source, powerful, stays out of your way. It has a lot of great built-in tools that are there when you need them (like the problem finder), but it doesn't overwhelm you with its power. If you just need a distraction-free environment, it can do that, too. Full screen, customizable, just how you like it.
Surprised it isn't more popular to be honest.
