Excellent alternative to Google Maps, because, contrary to OpenStreetMap (which it relies on heavily though) it is not just a map and provides loads of functionalities that've become essential to many users. Only problem i see for now is the UI is not the best and i sometimes find myself searching for the right button more i'd like to. But that's to be expected when including so many features. Hopefully this will be worked on in the future !
Commented on be-BOPBeing the first ever functional GNU Taler integration, this makes be-BOP a very interesting project to keep an eye on. I'm not a client myself so i'll let actual users review it, so hopefully it'll go in the right direction.

I don't like the fact that they're selling their platform on the virtues of it being a "democratic cooperative" while they seeked venture capital only to instantly reward both its founders with a 145k$ annual salary. Do note i'm not an artist though, and have not been using the platform.
Reviewed Speech Note★★★★Only missing feature would be to read from any app, or from any file. It's really good as is !
Commented on lib.reviewslib.reviews is now being maintained with AI assistance through the newly created Permacommons project (https://permacommons.org/). It does mean progress has been made on the website in 2025, and ongoing improvments are being worked on.
Reviewed Data Monitor★★★It works, but to be actually useful to me it would need some much needed features: cut internet connection when limit is reached, weekly/monthly limits instead of only daily limits, data usage/tracking from different SIM cards, add monthly data for rechargeable data plans etc... Still, this is currently the best available app for the job !

The single young dev working on this project seems to genuinely care about their product and to have a good sense of what they're doing 👍 if i were to pay for such a tool i'd definitely give money to them
Reviewed Mirlo★★★★Mirlo is a great place to upload your music because It Just Works™ : people listen to your music, buy your music (and your merch), and you get the money (and choose which percentage goes back to Mirlo). It's also a fantastic community trying their best to help artists in these trying times, and home to lots of bonkwave music as well !! It's currently being worked on and supposedly not feature complete, but frankly as is it's already very polished and ready to be deployed !
Reviewed Qpdf Tools★★★★Pretty new app that makes the job done with a simple and efficient UI
Commented on MinuimusUnfortunately no UI, so inaccessible to many users, including myself...
Reviewed Fossify Launcher★★★★Forked from previous Simple Launcher, with additional fixes, and hopefully, a contribution process that keeps on improving the app and fixing bugs !

Definitely better than Thunderbird, but ultimately falls into the same pitfalls as its big brother: bloat, and more bloat.

Simple and efficient notebook. Wish i could directly type in markdown format characters though !

Commented on SnapcraftThe Snap Store suffered yet again from another wave of scam crypto-wallet apps (https://popey.com/blog/2024/03/exodus-wallet-part-three/). What's a closed-course app-store worth if you cannot even trust it to verify the apps they offer to you ?

It's still lacking here and there (the mobile interface isn't very usable for example) but this is already a fantastic tool. It also provides free hosting forever for open-source projects !
Reviewed Linux Wifi Hotspot★★★★★Works as intended, useful tool !

I've been using it for several years now and it's been a huge time-saver ever since. I like that it doesn't force you to use a remote synchronized database, and let you merge different databases you may have created at different times.
Commented on SlimSocial for FacebookSlimSocial was revived in May 2023 with a rewritten codebase using Flutter. It's not so "slim" anymore as it weighs 20Mb instead of 100kb but it seemingly works ok-ish. No updates since then. With all that said, SlimSocial is currently the most up-to-date facebook-wrapper available.
Reviewed Win Debloat Tools★★★★Could use a few ease of use improvments, but it's currently the best accessible and maintained debloat software for W10 out there !

Reviewed Image Toolbox★★★Good image manipulation toolbox, riddled by questionable UI choices.
Reviewed Rainloop★★After years of good service, Rainloop is seemingly being abandonned. First there was a severe security issue that took months to be patched, while a fix was readily available, and now, you can watch the bug reports pile up on their issue tracker… Fortunately a fork is being actively worked on, fixing bugs and adding new features: it's called SnappyMail. I'd highly suggest switching to that fork if you were using Rainloop before, or considering to use it.
Reviewed Litrato★★★★Currently the only app i trust that provides easy contrast, light and hue sliders, as well as cropiing and-rotating tools. Lightweight and fast too. Unfortunately not maintained anymore, it is still fully usable and does its job well, but still needs improvments here and there to be a perfect tool.
