Gave it a look. Wouldn't recommend to the average user. Doesn't handle standard web url links well like Obsidian and CherryTree do. If you want to export to html, go with Obsidian. I'm not familiar w/the Wiki writer thing.

Comment summary: WikidPad is appreciated for its flexible notepad capabilities, portability, and powerful regex search. However, users report challenges with its setup on Mac and Linux, compatibility issues with HiDPI displays, and a steep learning curve. While praised for HTML export and organizing abilities, some criticize its reliance on meta-language over intuitive formatting. The lack of a native Mac version and its demand on resources are notable drawbacks.

Best way that I have found to easily create my own portable regex searchable wiki and be able to use it, fast and most easily.

If you want to spend all your time making formatting decisions and designing a layout for your very own personal wiki, this is the app for you. On the other hand, if you actually want to do work and spend time writing, avoid this one. A great workflow killer.

Have loved and used Wikidpad for years.

Just upgraded to a 4k screen, and find that there is very poor compatibility with HiDPI resolutions.

I either have blurry text, or microscopic icons :(

opensource. Great way to organize information in a non-linear way

Broken. Unable to create a new file or edit the sample one. Throws an error when closing.

(I'm using Win 7 Pro)

What is wikidPad?

wikidPad is a Wiki-like notebook for storing your thoughts, ideas, todo lists, contacts, or anything else you can think of to write down. What makes wikidPad different from other notepad applications is the ease with which you can cross-link your information. Links in a wiki are created by typing in WikiWords. A WikiWord is any mixed case word typed into the editor. TodoList or JohnDoe are example WikiWords. The term wiki means "quick" in Hawaiian, and wikis are all about quickly linking your information together. Wikis are not a new concept, in fact there are many web based wiki servers avai
