What is VidVana?
VidVana is a private, encrypted desktop video player built for people with large local video collections. Instead of opening one file at a time, you import your collection once and browse everything visually - thumbnails, ratings, favorites, playlists, and full-text search across thousands of videos.
Privacy is core, not an afterthought. Your entire library, thumbnails, and metadata are encrypted with AES-256-GCM and protected by a PIN. A Shift+Escape panic shortcut hides everything instantly behind a generic cover screen, and an optional Duress PIN opens an empty library if you're ever forced to unlock the app. No accounts, no cloud, no telemetry, no tracking - everything stays on your device.
The signature feature is multi-video grid playback: watch 4 to 25 videos simultaneously (2x2 up to 5x5) with auto-rotation, pinning, swap timers, and per-tile controls. Fullscreen mode adds bookmarks, loops, zoom/pan, speed control (0.25x–4x), screenshots, and clip export. The Compilation Builder lets you bookmark moments across different videos and stitch them into highlight reels with trimming, transitions, and MP4 export.
Free tier supports a 200-video library and 2x2 grid. Pro is a one-time purchase (not a subscription) and unlocks unlimited library size, all grid sizes up to 5x5, the Compilation Builder, advanced privacy features, and external library integration.
