What is Tenoa?

Tenoa is a visual library platform where users can store various types of content such as images, articles, videos, and PDFs. The content is saved as plain files directly on the user's device, forming a personal library. The platform also retains any links associated with the saved content. It offers a broad search functionality, including search by meaning through AI-generated summaries and tags. An optional cloud AI is available but is switched off by default. Users can report concerns about the AI-generated content via email.

Tenoa does not require sign-up or email. Users can open the app and start saving content. Saved items can be read, backed up, and moved independently of Tenoa. The platform does not host libraries, all content is on the user's devices. It features peer-to-peer syncing between computers and a free mobile app, with end-to-end encryption. Tenoa servers only facilitate device connectivity. The software costs $49 for three computers, with free apps for iPhone and iPad. An optional hosted sync service costs $29 annually.
