      Is not that they are dissimilar ... they are not even in the same ballpark!!! CherryTree is Onenote with a simpler look, and other features. Tagspaces is uncommon, and tags files and folders (the closest I've seen is directory opus with "descript.ion" files.

      hasues QOwnNotes supports taking notes in MarkDown like TagSpaces. It allows local note storage. It supports tagging. It does not have management capabilities of images and such like TagSpaces. It has a better implemented tagging system (unless you have Sidecart files in TagSpaces) but how it manages them could be more visually appealing. QOwnNotes is written in Qt/C++. TagSpaces is written in JavaScript.
