Comments about Barrier as an Alternative to Synergy

Comment summary: Barrier, a fork of Synergy, is praised for being an open-source, cross-platform solution with active maintenance. It provides an easy setup and works efficiently across Linux and Windows, requiring minimal adjustments. Despite the lack of Wayland support, users find it reliable and fast, emphasizing its function compared to the now less-updated Synergy. Development for Synergy has shifted towards the InputLeap project since February 2022.

This is the only cross-platform solution I've found so far, and it's working a heck of a lot better than Synergy!

Last update from November 2021. Main developers moved to Input Leap. For now both Input Leap and Barrier are more or less at the same state, but going forward Input Leap might be the better choice.

Input Leap is software that mimics the functionality of a KVM switch, which historically would allow you to use a single keyboard and mouse to control multiple computers by physically turning a dial on the box to switch the machine you're controlling at any given moment.

A fork of Synergy from back when it was open source, that is actively being developed, and works cross-platform.

While the description is a little vague, they seem to imply that your keyboard/mouse input is sent to another PC when you move your mouse into a tiny window on either PC.
