This is the only cross-platform solution I've found so far, and it's working a heck of a lot better than Synergy!

No longer maintained as of Feb 2022, development efforts have continued under the "InputLeap" project on GitHub

Last update from November 2021. Main developers moved to Input Leap. For now both Input Leap and Barrier are more or less at the same state, but going forward Input Leap might be the better choice.

Input Leap is software that mimics the functionality of a KVM switch, which historically would allow you to use a single keyboard and mouse to control multiple computers by physically turning a dial on the box to switch the machine you're controlling at any given moment.

It's the currently maintained fork of the original open-source version of Synergy.

A fork of Synergy from back when it was open source, that is actively being developed, and works cross-platform.

Deskflow is a free and open-source keyboard and mouse sharing app. Use the keyboard, mouse, or trackpad of one computer to control nearby computers, and work seamlessly between them. It's like a software KVM (but without the video). TLS encryption is enabled by default.

This does not actually replicate the functionality of Synergy

While the description is a little vague, they seem to imply that your keyboard/mouse input is sent to another PC when you move your mouse into a tiny window on either PC.
