I have tried all alternatives. Yes Putty stands out for simplicity and speed. But no advanced features. ZOC and Xshell are good but MobaXterm stands out. Its free with minor annoyance and no important features missing. It can be customised and is an all in one place for RDP , SSH ( which I use ) and others. So I regard this as the best alternative.
