Rest Time information
What is Rest Time?
Rest Time is a native macOS menu-bar break reminder designed to help people take regular pauses during long computer sessions. Rather than relying on a simple wall-clock timer, it starts counting when you become active, treats time spent away from the Mac as an informal break, and adjusts automatically after sleep and wake.
Before a scheduled break, Rest Time can provide advance warnings. At break time, it displays a calm full-screen overlay across all connected displays and can optionally make the break harder to dismiss, while retaining an emergency exit for situations where an early return is necessary.
Breaks can be postponed, and reminders can be disabled temporarily for presentations, meetings or other interruption-sensitive work. Rest Time automatically re-enables itself afterwards so that break reminders are not accidentally left switched off.
Rest Time runs natively on Intel and Apple silicon Macs and does not require macOS Accessibility permission. It is available as a one-time purchase with a fully functional 14-day trial.
