    Great photo and tag management tools. It's also apparently the only program, from the ones listed, that has facial recognition features (although not great in comparison to Picasa's).

    Well, the UI of digiKam is a torture. Using it after Picase is like going from UI back to command line. It's packed with features, yes, but UI overcomplicated far beyond what is necessary. Tabs on top, tabs on the left, tabs on the right, and yes, each window section can also have tabs...

    Fly Photo is not a photo management software, but it's specifically created to replicate Picasa Photo Viewer (part of Picasa & discontinued alongside it), and it has been getting pretty close to Picasa. Fly Photo's main goal is to be fast, so the developer turned off some animations by default; but once you toggle those settings back on, it's very close to Picasa.
