Not really a chatbot per se, but it beats the pants off any search based NLP, such as Bing AI. Way better, in that it has a lot less limitations, and does not throw tantrums and leave if you point out errors. It'll take criticism positively and not only that, it's much faster, more accurate and provides many more references than others do. They also have an Android app, which blows Bing AI away in terms of speed, reliability, user friendliness and cleanliness. The interface is simple, unlike Bing's cluttered mess with all its bloat. It'll also work across platforms, through any browser, and is ad free with no account required. The accuracy is a lot better, and the few times it provides incorrect information, it'll happily double check and give you the right answer, complete with multiple references. It finishes answers before Bing can even start. As a chatbot, not much use for general chat, but if you need to find something online, no matter how bad you are with Google, this will find it.
It's not really that useful.
The outputs are inferior to the good LLM like Grok 2 and GPT 4o.
The results are primarily top results for what you search for. The same things you will get if you just do a basic search yourself.
So it doesn't actually save any time. It's just like doing a Brave search and having the ai output at the top, but in a different format.
I believe Perplexity goes through a lot more sources than Leo AI and I generally prefer it in instances where I don't need just a quick answer.
I haven't used it since the beginning of the year, but the rate AI tools are changing, reviews more than a few months old are likely not that useful anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if it is much better now.

It was a good AI. Unfortunately, they randomly changed the plan limits, making them unacceptable for paying customers. R.I.P. Perplexity.
Perplexity AI provides accurate, reliable answers quickly, and has a user-friendly interface. While there’s a slight learning curve with some advanced features, it’s a versatile and valuable tool. Highly recommended!
Perplexity is fantastic when you want in-depth answers,.. I use it all the time!! weakpoints: favoritism to Google and Microsoft in software choices, changes direction w/o explaining (click this other tab instead), plays "yes-man" in agreeing vs doing what is asked (like "go back"), sends down rabbit holes (will have you hack program extensively vs choosing better one), goes off on tangents (said kebab in a computing sense and instead got a dining experience), very short-term memory (might not "remember"what it said 2 responses ago) . If programming, you should remind it if you are using a new version software in the beginning so you don't get old software info. It's a training process, but all-in-all this is a lot of great guidance!
I still use Perplexity all the time, but it seems all the AIs have gotten into an incessant blather mode. I have to keep including a KISS comment or "1 meaningful-step-at-time comment".
