Perplexity launches Computer in Email to give its AI agent instructions from your inbox

Perplexity has announced that Computer, its agent platform for handling complex tasks and producing finished deliverables, now works directly through email. Users can email, forward a thread, or cc computer@perplexity.com to start a task, with Computer reading the full conversation and any attached files needed to complete it.

Results are returned in the same email thread, including deliverables such as spreadsheets, PDFs, and presentations. Each request also creates a full Computer session that can be reviewed on the web or mobile, with the same steps and audit trail as tasks started directly in the app.

Computer in Email uses the same memory and context as other Computer sessions, including Perplexity’s self-improving Brain, so it can reference previous decisions, terminology, and established facts. Tasks only run after the sender is verified and use that person’s existing connectors and permissions. For now, Computer replies only to the sender, with Reply All support for Enterprise planned for a future update.
