What is PastePal?

PastePal is a native macOS application that allows us to easily manage pasteboard history, notes and shortcut.

The app displays nicely in light and dark mode, and visually accessible via side bar. You can toggle side bar via shortcut Cmd Option Alt P.

Overall features

  • Light and dark mode
  • Keyboard shortcut to open and hide side bar
  • Various settings via gear button
  • Right click for more context menu
  • Status bar icon to easily trigger PastePal

Main features

Pasteboard: Automatically watch pasteboard history. You can change preference to watch and unwatch certains apps, or to watch from background only.

You can search and filter history based on types. Supported history item are text, image, pdf and file. You can preview image and pdf right within the app.

There's open in Finder button in detail popup view where you can go straight to a file.

You can also apply pasteboard item and save it as a note for permanent access.

Note: Make a new note. You can update title, text and tags. In advanced search for note you can search for title, text and tags.

In settings for note, you can add and remove tag and give each tag a color. That color appears as a dot in note so you know which note has which tags.
