    X2Go vs NoMachine Comments

On December 21, 2010, NoMachine announced that NX 4.0 would be closed-source. X2go is free and open source. and offer the same options that nomachine gave and more, most important are:

    • No need to open up any additional ports in the server. All X2Go traffic is tunneled over the already opened SSH.
    • No need to start any daemon in the server to listen. install it and if you have an ssh daemon then you are ready.
    • client-side rendering, so server consume very litle resources.
