Nagi is excellent. It looks good; provides useful customisation options and above all it sounds good. But... For the moment there are some niggles that mean it can be frustrating to use. Nagi is excellent. It looks good; provides useful customisation options and above all it sounds good. But... For the moment there are some niggles that mean it can be frustrating to use. I'm not sure the indexing is all that good. I found lots of instances of, for example, single tracks from compilation albums being included as single track albums. There were also numerous examples of incorrect album art being used:- 10cc's album cover for "...Meanwhile" also being used for the album, Cosmic Art by *Ancients. I am quite fastidious about maintaining accurate tags so why these anomalies should occur is a bit of a mystery.

Another minor annoyance is the Artists view in the library. Nagi uses images of artists to fill in for "missing" album artwork (of which there are none in my library) but can't seem to find an image to use in the Artists view.

These niggles aside, Nagi does most other things well and I am sure that in time it will become a first choice player for many.

Still in development, but shows promise. Straightforward, nice looking and with some cool features. Identifies albums with multiple discs and various artists in a better fashion than most other music players, which is a great plus and made it my player of choice.

Hidden gem - Simple, beautiful, light, built with WinUI, ad free, supports lyrics, playing from folders.

What is Nagi?

Nagi is a fast, simple, and private music player software developed with C# and WinUI 3. It features a resizable mini-player, interactive lyrics, and supports a wide variety of audio formats. The interface is modern, responsive, and customizable, with smooth animations and dynamic theming that adapts to the artwork of the playing song. Lyrics can be displayed from tags or external .lrc files, and users can tap a lyric to jump to that moment in the song. The mini-player includes playback controls, album art, and an efficiency mode for low resource usage.

Nagi automatically scans, organizes, and updates users' music folders. Users can create custom or smart playlists that update as their library expands. It offers queue management with shuffle and repeat controls, a 10-band equalizer and pregain control for sound fine-tuning, and ReplayGain support for consistent volume levels. It also integrates with Last.fm and Discord, includes system tray and media controls, and supports formats like MP3, FLAC, AAC, OGG, WAV, AIFF, APE, DSD, M4A, WMA, WavPack, and more.
