What is RustMusic?

RustMusic is a free and open-source HD music player designed for audiophiles who want quality without compromise. Built natively in Rust for maximum performance, it plays every format from MP3 to DSD/SACD with true bit-perfect output on all three major operating systems.

Key features:

• Bit-perfect audio output on all 3 systems: WASAPI Exclusive on Windows, CoreAudio hog mode on macOS, ALSA exclusive on Linux — your file goes to the DAC untouched, no system mixer resampling

• Native DSD support (DSF/DFF) with DoP transport — your DAC displays "DSD" and receives the original 1-bit stream unchanged (DSD64/128/256/512)

• Full format support: FLAC, WAV, AIFF, ALAC, MP3, AAC, OGG, M4A, DSF, DFF (up to 24-bit / 192 kHz)

• Built-in tag editor for MP3, FLAC, DSF and DFF — individual editing or spreadsheet-style batch workshop, with cover art support and safe atomic writes

• Automatic metadata import from Deezer (via their public API, no account required)

• Replay Gain playback with adjustable preamp (track / album modes)

• DLNA / UPnP server to stream your library to hi-fi amplifiers over the local network

• Multi-library and multi-profile management (Netflix-style profiles, one library per profile)

• Interactive statistics: formats, quality, top artists, genres with SVG charts

• Sleep timer (fixed duration or end-of-track) and always-on-top mini-player

• Modern dark UI powered by Svelte 5 + Tailwind, high-contrast accessibility mode

• No account, no ads, no tracking, no telemetry — pure local files

Powered by Rust + Tauri + Svelte 5 + SQLite. Available for Windows, macOS (Apple Silicon + Intel) and Linux (.deb, .rpm, .AppImage). A compatibility build for older glibc (Debian 12, Ubuntu 22.04) is also provided.
