LumaDisk information
What is LumaDisk?
LumaDisk is a native disk analyzer and disk-space visualizer for macOS and Windows. It scans your entire filesystem in seconds and renders the results as an interactive, perceptually-uniform sunburst chart — the biggest files and folders leap out immediately, so you can instantly find what's consuming your storage and reclaim it with a click.
Unlike Electron-based tools, LumaDisk is built with Rust and GPUI — the same GPU-accelerated stack that powers the Zed editor — and runs truly native on Apple Silicon, Windows x86-64, and Windows ARM64. That means fast parallel scans and a fluid, responsive UI with no browser runtime.
Key features
Interactive sunburst chart — full-disk scans complete in seconds; drill into any wedge to re-layout the chart on that subtree, with a breadcrumb trail to keep you oriented. Build-cache radar — automatically detects and groups developer caches like node_modules, /target, .next, .gradle, and Xcode DerivedData. Developer machines often reclaim 10–50 GB from build caches alone. Find duplicates & reclaimable space — surfaces what's safe to delete, with right-click actions (Reveal in Finder, Move to Trash) and a details panel for any file or folder. Scans everything — internal SSDs/HDDs, external drives, USB sticks, SD cards, and network volumes (read-only). Cloud drive support maps what's actually stored in iCloud Drive, OneDrive, and Dropbox — including cloud-only files, not just the local copy. Private by default — no telemetry, no analytics, no account. Local scans never touch the network; connected cloud drives authenticate directly with your provider over OAuth (PKCE, tokens stored on-device), so your data is never routed through LumaDisk's servers.
Note: macOS version will be available very soon.
