POX Lots of people use GIMP for photo editing, and it's not the best alternative to Krita for digital drawing/painting but you can definitely use GIMP for drawing and painting and not only to edit photos.

This is NOT a good drawing program. Its more of a Photoshop. I am looking for something closer to Adobe Illustrator, Krita, etc.

Like in the description, it's the closest thing to Photoshop you can get. It's not very good for digital drawing, it's focused more on photo editing.

It's a GIMP fork by people who thought the name "GIMP" was one of the biggest reasons GIMP is having trouble competing with Photoshop. The same reasons apply. (GIMP is tuned for photo editing, not digital painting.)
