The app has a great modern design and I get 100 gb of OneDrive storage for free!

Onedrive implementation is crap. (Not anymore)

EDIT: Ever since the name change, Onedrive music playback is way better. It still takes about 10 seconds for the first song to play, but after that, no more ridiculous delays or errors!

When you try to play the music you have on your Onedrive account, it's so slow. Best case scenario, the two-minute track plays after ten seconds. Otherwise, it gets a stupid error message "We couldn't play the file" or whatever.

It's a good thing some of the stored music can be associated with the paid catalog version on Xbox Music. The preview plays perfectly...

... it need some improvements. Sometimes I can't log in. Android version still requires Music Pass. Future versions might fix that.

Now that Groove Music Pass is being discontinued and music is being removed from the Windows store, the only viable options left for Windows phones are going to be streaming music services like Spotify or the tedious and expensive route of buying music from other stores like iTunes and then importing them to OneDrive so that they can then be streamed through the Groove app. It's sad to see such an unrivaled service discontinued, and even more sad to have no alternative for buying music.

I know your comment is a couple of years old, but there is an update on streaming services in regards to Groove Music.

"The Groove Music OneDrive streaming service will be retired on March 31, 2019. After that date, you won’t be able to stream your OneDrive music through the Groove Music app."

Streaming from OneDrive was the only reason I used Groove.
