What is Gimp Paint Studio?
GPS (aka Gimp Paint Studio) is a collection of brushes, patterns, color gradients, accompanying tool presets and dynamics. Tool presets are a simply saved tool options, highly useful feature of the GIMP.
The goal of GPS is to provide an adequate working environment for graphic designers and artists to begin to paint and feel comfortable with GIMP from their first use. Later the user will change these settings based on his own workflow preferences and understanding of GIMP.
The project seems to be no longer developed. Last version, 2.0, released in August 2013, can be still downloaded from GitHub.

Said about Gimp Paint Studio as an alternative
heard great things about this application but never really went into it as far as krita or mypaint due to wonky pen responsiveness but like krita this is a photoshop alternative
amazing. the only problem is that there is too much of everything and more suitable for photo editing
I like it cause the brushes and such are easy to use and are awsome!
