Comments about Vivaldi as an Alternative to Mozilla Firefox
Comment summary: While Vivaldi is praised for its speed, customizability, and unique features reminiscent of older versions of Firefox, concerns arise due to its closed-source nature tied to Chromium and lack of full privacy features and add-on synchronizations. Firefox is favored by users who seek open-source, standalone alternatives. Some users find Vivaldi inferior in handling tab management and criticize its limitations in comparison with Firefox and operating system integrations.

Vivaldi is simply the next stop for Firefox users, while it is freeware, it is technically closed and open-source. Some of the browser's components are closed while some are open and the source codes are available on Vivaldi's website.

There's no good reason to use a closed source browser like Vivaldi when there are so many open source alternatives on this page.

Comments about Brave as an Alternative to Mozilla Firefox
Comment summary: Brave is praised for its privacy features, speed, built-in ad-blocker, and integration with Tor. However, some users express concerns about its dependency on the Chromium engine and potential tracking issues. Mozilla Firefox, while still appreciated, is seen as less convenient for privacy out-of-the-box compared to Brave. Concerns include recent changes in Firefox and an increase in ads. Brave appeals as a Chromium-based, privacy-conscious alternative, but some users criticize its crypto-focused approach.

Currently (March 2017), Brave is not a mature project. It's an open-source privacy-oriented browser and very fast. But you rely on the developers to provide most of the privacy settings, and you can't install extensions. Firefox remains much more customizable via it's about:config menu options.

Absolute bait-and-switch of a browser. They advertise privacy and ad blocking, yet you can't disable their crypto wallets or their Web3 stuff. Who knows what else they'll add in future that people won't be able to switch off.

The Mullvad Browser is a privacy-focused web browser developed in a collaboration between Mullvad VPN and the Tor Project. It’s designed to minimize tracking and fingerprinting. You could say it’s a Tor Browser to use without the Tor Network.

Opera used to be good back in the day, but IMO it lost its way in the early 2010s. One of the founders went on to start Vivaldi, which is a spiritual successor to the original, and that one's my current favorite Chromium browser.

Arc's UI is really weird, and it's basically another Chrome reskin at its core. But they get a ton of kudos from me for all the work they've done porting Swift to Windows, though.

The reviews and the hype got me excited for this browser. It does change the way you use a browser with the idea of spaces and profiles. You do have to be prepared for the change. Unfortunately, my Windows PC would face BSOD with this app, so I couldn't really evaluate it much. I hope they refine the browser, so I can take another look.
