    This is the best free alternative to Premiere Pro I've used for a few years. It has the basic features that Premiere Pro has, and that's good enough for my video editing needs. My only complaint is that images and videos are imported to fit a timeline's dimensions, which can be tedious to work around. Other than that, this is a really good video editor.

    I've been using Vegas since v11 and now I use mainly v15. I tried newer versions for a bit, but there are no new features in the newer versions that are really significant enough to force me to upgrade. It's fairly easy to use and very powerful as well. My only problem is the random crashes that can happen literaly at any moment. Although it doesn't happen very often, it's always caught me off guard and cost me some progress.

    Although it is more expensive than Adobe Premiere Pro, which is a minor drawback, it is lightning fast and can make videos in HD better than Premiere, and uses less space. However, it is only for Mac users and I run Windows 10.

    Avidemux is a great app, I use it all the time, but it's not a Premiere alternative. I use it to quickly delete unnecessary segments in my screen recording videos while preserving the original video encoding. In other words, no quality loss and no need to run the lengthy video encoding process.
