Google has removed Manifest V2 extensions from Chrome Web Store, including uBlock Origin

Since August 31, Google has officially removed all remaining Manifest V2 extensions from the Chrome Web Store, completing the final phase of its migration away from the older extension platform. The removal includes uBlock Origin, one of the most widely used content blockers built on Manifest V2. All MV2 listings have been removed from search results and the store catalogue, so users can no longer install or reinstall them through the Chrome Web Store, even with a direct link or if they had previously used the extension.

Manifest V2 extensions installed on Chrome 138 or earlier can remain installed, but they can no longer receive updates through the Chrome Web Store. Developers are therefore unable to distribute bug fixes, security patches, feature updates, or other changes through Google's marketplace. If one of these extensions is uninstalled or removed, it cannot be downloaded again from the store. The change also affects other Chromium based browsers that rely on the Chrome Web Store, even if they continue supporting Manifest V2.

Brave is one exception, as it has chosen to keep four Manifest V2 extensions available through its own infrastructure: AdGuard, uBlock Origin, uMatrix, and NoScript. Users looking beyond Chromium can also turn to Firefox and Firefox based browsers such as LibreWolf, Waterfox, or Zen Browser, as Mozilla continues to support both Manifest V2 and V3. Google, meanwhile, is moving Chrome toward Manifest V3, which it says improves security, privacy, performance, and extension controls.
