Proton Mail launches Easy Switch for Business to help companies move away from Google

Proton Mail has introduced Easy Switch for Business, a migration tool for companies moving from Google Workspace to Proton Mail. The tool transfers business emails, calendars, and contacts from Gmail and Google Calendar, while allowing Google Workspace and Proton to run in parallel during the transition to reduce downtime.

Admins can choose which data to migrate, connect Proton to Google Workspace, select accounts, configure their domain, and onboard their team through a guided six-step process. Proton also supports custom domains, including domains managed through services like Squarespace.

Proton is framing the tool as a way to address privacy, compliance, and data sovereignty concerns, pointing to Google’s data practices, AI access to user emails, and the risks of relying on a single US-based provider. The company also plans to add Microsoft 365 migration support later this year.
