Figma launches 4 new tools, including a Website & AI app builder to rival Framer & Lovable
Figma has announced a major expansion at its Config event, introducing four new tools including Figma Sites, Figma Make, Figma Buzz and Figma Draw, doubling its core product lineup from four to eight with a stronger focus on areas like no-code website building.
Figma Sites allows users to turn their design files into live websites withtout having to swicht to third party platforms. Sites supports templates, content blocks, more complex animations, and includes AI-powered code generation, with broader AI features planned to roll out soon. A content management system (CMS) feature will also arrive later this year, allowing designers and marketers to manage blog posts, thumbnails, and slugs directly from their design environment. This tool lets users publish sites with a custom domain while keeping the original Figma design intact, positioning itself as a strong alternative to modern builders like Framer, Wix.com or Squarespace.
Meanwhile, Figma Make is more similar to other AI-powered app and website builders like Lovable, Readdy, or the recently launched Canva Code. It enables users to create working applications and prototypes from text prompts or existing design files, powered by Claude 3.7. Teams can manually edit both the UI and code, and Figma is exploring integrations with third-party tools and design systems.
Figma Buzz lets teams quickly produce brand-compliant content templates such as social media posts and emails, providing bulk image creation from spreadsheets. Lastly, the new Draw tool introduces enhanced vector editing capabilities, like pattern fills, brush textures, and lasso selection, making Figma more competitive against other vector tools like Adobe Illustrator. A new $8 per month content seat plan targets content creators and marketers, granting access to Buzz, FigJam, Figma Slides, and the upcoming Sites CMS.
