Microsoft launches new Premium plan with Office apps & Copilot Pro, plus updated app icons

Microsoft is introducing a new $19.99-per-month plan called Microsoft 365 Premium, which combines the standard Microsoft 365 apps and services with Copilot Pro. It includes Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft OneNote, and Microsoft Outlook desktop apps with Microsoft Copilot, along with access to advanced AI models, higher usage limits, Copilot Labs, and reasoning agents like Researcher and Analyst that will soon expand to Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Premium also supports up to six users, each with 1 TB of Microsoft OneDrive cloud storage and Microsoft Defender, though only the main account holder can currently unlock Copilot AI features. The plan offers the highest limits for features such as GPT-4o image generation, podcasts, deep research, vision, actions, and upcoming voice support. A new Photos Agent is also part of the Copilot app.

Alongside this new Premium tier, Microsoft is also launching refreshed Office icons for all 10 core apps, featuring a more colorful, gradient-rich, and curvier Fluent design inspired by the Copilot icon. They will roll out across web, desktop, and mobile in the coming weeks.
