GitHub officially launches its AI-powered Copilot Chat for Android and iOS

GitHub has officially launched GitHub Copilot Chat, its generative AI chatbot for developers, to mobile platforms including iOS and Android. Initially launched in December 2023 for PCs and web, the chatbot is now accessible via GitHub Mobile, allowing developers to handle coding queries anytime, anywhere on their mobile devices.

GitHub Copilot Chat allows interactions with over 100,000 public repositories, giving developers insights and alternative coding practices.

To use GitHub Copilot Chat on mobile, developers need a GitHub account and the GitHub app. Users without a GitHub Copilot Individual license can obtain one through the mobile apps, while those with a GitHub Copilot Business or Enterprise license can activate the chatbot via their admins. GitHub Copilot is available to individual users for $10 per month or $100 per year with a free trial, while business subscribers pay $19 per month per user, and the Enterprise version, launched in February, is available for $39 per month per person.
