Adobe unveils AI-generated video editing tools in Premiere Pro, and it's a game-changer
At Adobe MAX yesterday, Adobe announced the beta availability of Adobe Premiere Pro's first set of Firefly-powered video editing workflows. These are powered by the new Firefly Video Model, which is designed to be commercially safe. Among the new features is Generative Extend, a tool that simplifies the process of extending clips to cover footage gaps, smooth transitions, and maintain shot timing.
The update introduces enhancements that significantly improve user efficiency, such as tripling export speeds and providing a new context-sensitive properties panel. Additional improvements include performance upgrades, an all-new color management system, an enhanced 3D workspace, and advanced metadata and asset workflows that integrate across Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Frame.io. These enhancements aim to provide video editors with more creative time and an improved user experience.
It's important to note that the generation is done on Adobe servers, so an internet connection and an account are needed. Also, it only extends video up to 2s, and sounds (music are not supported) up to 10s, and only if video is not too still and longer than 3s. So, it doesn't answer how it's supposed to be a "game-changer", except when parroting other big medias.
The sooner this AI bubble pops, the better...
Agreed. I'm sick of the hype and it being shoehorned into EVERYTHING.
