BlendOS v3 "Bhatura" released with seamless integration of multiple software options and desktop environments
blendOS, an immutable Linux distribution, has launched its latest version, “Bhatura”. This version is a unique blend of all Linux distributions, offering users a wide range of software installation options from Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, Arch Linux, and more. It also allows the running of Android and web apps, and to choose from various desktop environment.
The Bhatura release introduces a plethora of new features. Users can now switch between seven desktop environments, including GNOME, KDE Plasma, Cinnamon, Xfce, Deepin, MATE, and LXQt, with system track. The update also brings seamless atomic background updates, support for 10 container distributions and Nix Package Manager, reproducible systems (containers and dotfiles), and new developer-friendly CLI utilities for system and user operations.
BlendOS distinguishes itself from traditional Linux distributions by using ISOs for updates, resulting in system rebuilds with each update. The naming of this version continues the tradition of its predecessors, taking its name from a popular bread, “bhatura”, from the Indian subcontinent.
