Not great. In my first attempt to use it I found (and reported) two serious bugs. One is that the app often incorrectly identifies a unique file as a duplicate by showing two entries for the same file path. If you select either entries your file is gone for good. Since I'm scanning a few terabytes of files, I can't afford to check every buggy entry.
The other bug regards the symbolic link feature. As of version 6.1.0 (on Windows) It never creates the symbolic links, it just deletes the file....
OneLoupe magnifies in a small window, ZoomIt magnifies the entire screen.

This program is mediocre at best, and the developers are a bunch of lazy @$$3$ that can't take criticism, don't listen to users, and refuse to fix the many, many issues it has. I've used it on and off for a few years and consistently for the past few months, and I'm done with it. While it generally works well, it sometimes has major issues, like when it crashed explorer.exe creating a restore point (granted, this may not have been PMPC's fault, but we'll never know, since my report of the...
Reviewed SimilarityMuch of the functionality, including what actually makes this different/better than standard duplicate file finders, is NOT included in the free version. This would be ok, except for the fact that a) this is not made at all clear on the website, so you don't find out until downloading and installing it, and b) I'm not going to pay for a program that's been abandoned with no updates for years and, apparently, no support.
Replied to a comment / review on Hex Editor Neo
Reviewed Hex Editor NeoNOT free. They plaster the word "free" ALL OVER the page for it, including in the name itself and statements like "Zero price software" and "costs NOTHING," they label it as freeware, and there's no licensing or purchase link anywhere, yet once you download and install it, you're told you have to pay to do much of anything. I'm not against charging for software, but I am definitely against misrepresentation and false advertising. Software review sites should blacklist companies like this. Also,...
Reviewed tinyMediaManagerCan't do the most basic feature of recognizing movies named in "Movie, The" format, despite having a similar option for listing them in such a format. Hard to take a software seriously when it has such a fundamental and absurd oversight. And they want money for this? No thanks.
Reviewed P4MergeMalware that can't be uninstalled, and far too basic.

Potential malware. Downloaded and ran the installer, which had TWO separate screens trying to get you to install other software (PUPs), using a very scummy practice of moving the button to continue the installation to the other side of the installer and placing the button to accept the installation of this additional software where the mouse is, so if you click through quickly you'll end up accidentally installing it. As if that wasn't bad enough. after the install, it didn't run, it's not in...
Reviewed FreeFileSyncThe software itself is pretty good, certainly the best of its kind most of the time, though I sometimes end up resorting to WinMerge for certain tasks due to certain very poor design decisions in FFS that make it a pain to use and even potentially problematic.
What really irritates me, though, is that I can't even make suggestions for improvements regarding these issues, or get help. Despite even having donated, which I now regret, I can't register on the forum (they really should just use...
Wrote a negative comment on Krita as an alternative to Microsoft PaintKrita is probably a great program for those that need the extra functionality, but those looking for an alternative to the extremely basic MS Paint don't need that, and it will be far more complicated to use. Even more importantly, though, is that even on my high-end system, it takes minimum several seconds to start, and sometimes around half a minute or longer, and that's just too long for doing basic tasks that would be done in Paint.
Reviewed Greenfish Icon Editor ProDidn't even try it, and I won't. It's 2022, there's no excuse for any site, especially one delivering software, to be http only (not https). This not only allows for attackers to intercept the traffic and replace the download with a malicious one, but it also speaks to the lack of security mindedness of the developer, not something I want in software. This is at least the second one I've found in the past day, and IMO AlternativeTo should either not include and link to these, or it should place...
