Reviewed gocryptfsgocryptfs is for linux, i think for macOS too?
cppcryptfs is for windows. this is by a 3rd party, yet the files are inter-change-able. but ofcoz there could be unexpected. details pls refer to gocryptfs or cppcryptfs 's site.

I love EncFS. It is owned and supported by a friendly community. The code is available for public review, so more secure than proprietary options.
As for the security concerns, EncFS version 1.7 is probably safe as long as the adversary only gets one copy of the ciphertext and nothing more. EncFS is not safe if the adversary has the opportunity to see two or more snapshots of the ciphertext at different times.
EncFS version 1.8 and 1.9.1 fixed many of those security concerns. Future...

Unfortunately this one failed the "60 seconds to make yourself useful and not annoy me" test. Doing a large directory tree comparison - it said many of the files were different, but when I individually clicked on a few and selected "Quick Compare" it then conceded that they are in fact the same. I don't have time to go through and do that for each file/directory individually, that's why I need a good tool. Furthermore, I couldn't find any of the options to select "ignore whitespace...

Downvoted a comment on Boxcryptor as an alternative to CryptomatorBoxcryptor is proprietary (closed source). Cryptomator is open source, which means you can check for backdoors and other insecurities. Cryptomator is also free and works on Linux, which Boxcryptor doesn't. Cryptomator is a Boxcryptor killer.
