What is X-Mouse Button Control?
X-Mouse Button Control is a Windows application to remap your mouse buttons and expand the capabilities of your mouse!
You are able to provide application or window specific mappings, which means an application or window can use the mouse buttons differently from another. For each profile you can optionally define up to 5 'layers' of different button configurations which you can switch between using hotkeys or mouse buttons.
You can also alter the behaviour of the scroll and tilt wheel functions, fixing windows that don't normally respond to these controls.
Profiles are automatically activated by moving the mouse over the defined window or alternatively, when the specified application is active.
X-Mouse Button Control supports Windows 2000, XP, 2003, 2003 R2, Vista, 2008, 2008 R2, 7. It was originally designed to run natively on x64 editions of Windows but it is fully supported on 32bit editions too! The installation determines what version is required (x64 or x86) as you run it.

- TBayAreaPatreviewed X-Mouse Button ControlTBIt makes copy/paste enter so efficient on my simple mouse! .. And I know that there's so much I can do.. HOWEVER.. I want to point out that I have been having issues with my mouse and keyboard locking up. I'm not sure if this has to do with a PS2 driver from X-Mouse or a known issue with Microsoft and their updates for Windows 10. I've been fiddling with a lot of software, and that can lead to issues.

Simulated keys is the best feature ever. XMB's ability to recognize parent & ancestor windows only adds to the rabbit hole of customization and macros you can generate.cnejfeltliked X-Mouse Button Control
Greatly improves upon not only Windows itself, but alternatives like WizMouse as well. WizMouse is very limited in comparison. Give this app a go, it's fantastic. Really ought to have more likes than Wizmouse et al. (4 stars)

Update: I stopped using XMBC for a while because Windows 10 had finally added the killer feature of scrolling unfocused windows. However I came back to it when looking for a good mouse macro program. Turns out XMBC is perfect for configuring mouse macros for games and such, and it handily replaced my AHK scripts with a single reliable program. Besides the macro features it offers a broad range of customization options not found in the OS settings or other mouse configuration apps. Highly recommended. (5 stars)
Not a steep learning curve, though it might look scary. There is great documentation. This is such a powerful piece of software. It really helps me ergonomically. Go download it, enjoy it, and then donate to the developer because he's earned it.
I use it as a replacement for Better Touch Tool when I'm on Windows.
There's no Delete key among the functions you can set for your buttons, and you can only chose from the predefined key combinations. That makes this program useless for me.
I managed to configure the Del key in the end. It had to choose the Simulated Key option from the list and then I had to type {DEL}

Excellent, powerful tool that can be used with or without AutoHotkey. Granted, I believe all of its features can be achieved with AHK, but I find it easier/quicker to set things up quickly using X-Mouse Button Control and usually, I take the lazy route in this regard.
Amazing app, the amount of customizable preferences is virtually unlimited with things like button chording triggers and pretty unique functions like locking mouse axes, etc. including an extensive macro editor to make your own. It's good is the point.
