What is LinguaX?

LinguaX is a lightweight macOS menu bar app that automatically switches your input source when you switch apps or browser tabs — so you're always typing in the right language without manual intervention.

  1. App-based input rules — Assign a preferred input source to each app. Switch to your IDE and it switches to English; switch to WeChat and it goes back to Chinese.
  2. Website-based rules — With Accessibility permission, LinguaX also detects the active website domain in your browser and switches input accordingly.
  3. Mouse Enhancement — Smooth scrolling with trackpad-like inertia for third-party mice, reverse scroll, and button remapping.
  4. Privacy-first — All data stays on-device. No personal information is collected.
  5. Lightweight — Under 5 MB. Lives in the menu bar and stays out of your way.
