    All the comments about WizTree being faster are outdated, since the 2.0.1 in october 2024 WinDirStat is as fast if not faster than Wiztree. Reasons that make WindirStat a better option include:

    • No annoying vibrating animated donation button every time you use it.
    • It's open source.

    only real downside is the lack of a dark theme.

    Windirstat is great but this is a bit simpler to understand visuals with the labeled squares etc. It's portable by design and there's no nagware animated donation buttons just like WinDirStat.

    It hasn't been updated in a while and might give you an error message sometimes but other than that it's an excellent alternative. You should have both this and WinDirStat installed.
