Time to time I use the editor as an alternative to Sublime and VSCode. Yes, this editor really powerful, and much powerful then Sublime Text. The problem of the editor is the price. Luck of plugins/themes. It does the job really well, but some features what Sublime Text has over editor really annoying me (multiline search, displaying results of a search, and everything related to fast jumping/searching between files).
Another dog of an editor for large files (260MB) on a Mac. Still, for me, Mac Fiend is working best.

I am a long time user of UltraEdit. One of the neat things about UltraEdit is how configurable it it..... There are tons of settings for those that like to tweak. The defaults are great, but if you want to learn and do some powerful stuff the website had great tutorials and examples. If that is not enough direct email support is always fast.... Never had to wait forever hoping someone might respond like with other products.
You truly get what you pay for.
I'm a long-time user and think you get what you pay for. Though it has some quirks, it's a very power editor for both source code and very large text files.
I use UltraEdit as a text and HTML editor. It can be setup to colour code the HTML code and this makes code level editing much easier. Search and replace is about all I do with it so I can't speak about using it on programming code.
