Textwright is a native text editor for Windows, built for big files. A 200 MB log is ready to scroll and search in about a second, the free version opens files up to 2 GB, and Pro opens bigger ones.
It highlights 30 languages, has a live Markdown preview, a command palette, a folder view, a minimap, split view, multiple carets and line filtering. Persian, Arabic and Hebrew are laid out right to left properly, and the caret goes where you expect in lines that mix them with English.
An optional AI model runs on your own PC and can explain the open file or answer a question about it. Your files are never uploaded, and there is no account and no telemetry.
Pro adds comparing two files, reviewing a coding agent's Git changes with notes on any line, find and replace across a folder, the bulk line tools, files over 2 GB and commercial use. The editor is free for personal use, and Pro is $39.99, paid once.
