TwistedBrush is a really a great app but the major problem with it is:
if they fix those problems...it will kick the competitors out quickly the app is really strong but the team behind planning its future is not
As someone who has used TBP for years and who has more than 1 perpetual license I am disappointed to say that I can no longer recommend that anyone use it.
The Dev has simply lost his interest in listening to community feedback and has resorted to so many horrible money grab shovel-ware products that it's simply an insult. The main program goes un-updated for 3 years well shovel-ware is produced, and then when it is updated it removes well established features and locks the interface down to the point where it feels uncomfortable that it has a MSRP of $100. For the normal "sale" price of $70 there are a dozen other art programs that deserve your money and time more. If you really want to support an old niche art program look into dogwaffle. Otherwise go for Kirta, Clip Studio Paint, ArtRage, Art Weaver, PaintStorm, or one the many others who have Dev's who actually care about their core product and users.
