What is TickerNotch?

TickerNotch is a Swift application designed to transform your MacBook's notch into an interactive ticker bar. It displays your watchlist and position P&L on one side, while scrolling through RSS news headlines on the other. Additionally, it features price alerts that trigger native notifications, ensuring these important updates are always in view as you work.

The functionality of the strip extends beyond just displaying tickers. A single search field allows you to add whatever you type, whether it's a stock, a city, or a social handle. It can also display weather information such as temperature, high/low, feels like, rain, UV or wind for any city, without requiring location access.

Social counters are another feature that can be added to the strip, showing live follower numbers from platforms like GitHub, YouTube, Twitch, Bluesky, and Mastodon. You also have the option of running news on both sides of the notch, with each side having its own channels.

For those interested in stock analysis, clicking a ticker opens a candlestick chart window. You can run several of these windows side by side and utilize built-in indicators such as RSI, MACD, Bollinger, or import your own.

The app is deeply customizable, allowing users to change everything from animated shader backgrounds to the strip's fonts. It is signed, notarized by Apple, and features auto-updates. There is no need for an account and no data is shared.
